What can you see with the Celestron Origin Smart Telescope? - x18 amazing images

Quick summary· AI-generated

A UK-based amateur astronomer shares 18 images captured with the Celestron Origin smart telescope over 10–20 minute sessions from a suburban location with significant light pollution near Liverpool. Most deep-sky targets (nebulae, galaxies) were captured using the Origin's nebula filter, and the author emphasizes the convenience of remote viewing via TV streaming rather than eyepiece observation. The gallery includes classic targets like the Orion Nebula, Whirlpool Galaxy, Horsehead Nebula, Rosette Nebula, and Andromeda, demonstrating the scope's capability for visual EAA work. The article underscores that even a newcomer to smart telescopes can achieve detailed images within weeks of ownership from a non-ideal observing site.

13 March 2025The following photos that have all been imaged using the Celestron Origin Intelligent Home Observatory Smart Telescope for between 10 and twenty minutes. Most nebulae have been captured using the Celestron Origin Nebula Filter. Some images are shown firstly as taken or with some cropping.  Any other editing within the Celestron Origin or appropriate software programmes. Unless otherwise stated, all these photos are taken from the Origin on a mini tripod and table. My location is on the West Coast of the United Kingdom, near Liverpool, with trees and buildings providing for a higher horizon and the normal light pollution. I am very much an amateur astronomer and just delighted I am getting such good images and seeing things I never thought I would. Not having to stand and look into an eyepiece is a welcomed bonus with the Celestron Origin, I can of course stream images to a TV and sit and watch inside the house in comfort. All images credit to Malcolm PAlderbaranAndromedaBetelgueseBubble NebulaCalifornia NebulaCapellaCocoon Dark NebulaCrescent NebulaFireworks GalaxyFlame NebulaHorse Head Nebula Little Dumbbell NebulaMarkarians ChainOrion Nebula RigelRosette Nebula SaiphWhirlpool GalaxyCategories ::Recent Posts22 April 2026  |  AdminIt's probably fair to say that optics giant Celestron has fallen a tiny bit behind in the area of affordable smart telescopes; brands such as Dwarflab, ZWO and Vaonis offer reasonably priced models ranging from under £200 to around just over £600. Perhaps Celestron will launch a new smart telescope before the winter of 2026, we hope so.9 April 2026  |  AdminStraight away, right out of the box, the SeeStar S50 Smart Telescope was up and running in minutes with the Seestar app downloaded to my tablet. I know this is an obvious one for anyone who's ever done a bit of astrophotography, but for a total newcomer it was amazing, completely and utterly amazing! And this was from my front garden! I was hooked!23 January 2026  |  AdminENTRY CLOSED - To mark 'PicStop's 25th Anniversary', we are celebrating with an exciting competition giveaway - enter now for your chance to win a FREE Celestron telescope worth £699!
