In reality, planetary detail depends on aperture, focal length, atmospheric seeing, camera technique, and processing. Some smart telescopes can identify or image planets, but the results may look small compared with deep-sky images built through stacking. Where smart telescopes shine is making faint objects visible. A galaxy or nebula that might look like a subtle smudge through a traditional eyepiece can become colorful and detailed after the smart telescope stacks many short exposures.
