Just Flight Shares A300B4 Professional Dev Update, Seeks Testers
Quick summary· AI-generated
Just Flight has progressed development on the A300B4 Professional, confirming six variants split between CF6 and JT9D powerplants. Passenger variants include the A300B4-103, -203 (CF6-powered with full systems simulation), and -120, -220 (JT9D-powered with accurate models and sound but limited engine simulation due to documentation constraints). Two cargo-converted freighter variants (-103F, -203F) round out the lineup, each shipping with operator liveries. The studio captured reference footage at Toulouse and plans a public beta demo at FSimUK; cabin functionality and final livery details will follow in later updates.

Just Flight has shared a new development update on the upcoming A300B4 Professional for MSFS 2020 and 2024, confirming that six passenger and freighter variants will be included in the package, and providing a closer look at the aircraft’s systems, artwork, and current development status.
First announced in 2023, the project is building an earlier-generation Airbus A300 with a three-person, largely analogue flight deck and a choice of General Electric CF6- and Pratt & Whitney JT9D-powered powerplants. Development has continued alongside the recently released Just Flight F70 and F100, and the latest beta build is due to be publicly demonstrated at FSimUK this weekend.
Just Flight also recorded a short video during a work trip to Toulouse to capture close-up imagery and references from a real-world A300B4. You can watch it below:
Four variants – PAX
Four passenger variants of the addon are planned. These include the A300B4-103 and A300B4-203, which use the General Electric CF6-50C2, producing up to 52,500 pounds of thrust. Compared with the preceding A300B2, the B4 had a centre fuel tank, increased payload capability, and an early form of ETOPS rating. The -103 and -203 are operationally similar, although manufacturing changes to the -203 allowed higher takeoff and landing weights.
The other two passenger models are the A300B4-120 and A300B4-220, with Pratt & Whitney JT9D-59A engines, rated at up to 53,000 pounds of thrust. Due to the limited number of surviving JT9D aircraft and insufficient technical documentation, Just Flight is unable to produce a high-fidelity engine simulation on par with the CF6 variants mentioned earlier. The JT9D-equipped A300B4 from Just Flight will therefore have accurate external models and a dedicated sound set, but it will not include a full engine simulation of the JT9D-59A.
Two variants – Cargo
The two remaining variants are the A300B4-103F and A300B4-203F, both passenger-to-cargo-converted freighters powered by the CF6-50C2 engine. These incorporate the corresponding structural, fuselage, and system changes, including the P2F-specific cockpit panels and controls.
The freighter exterior and interior models are still under development.
All six variants will be included in the same product, each to ship with operator liveries, with corresponding cabin textures to come eventually. More details on the passenger cabin, its functionality, and the differences between the passenger and freighter variants will be included…
