Tailstrike Partners With TFDi Design for Persistent State MD-11

Threshold

Quick summary· AI-generated

TFDi Design's MD-11 now integrates with Tailstrike, a cross-simulator persistent-flight platform that allows pilots to fly aircraft with synchronized cockpit states, component wear, and maintenance across multiple users. Over 1,000 aircraft settings—including panel config, switches, and radio—sync across the network, and if Extended Simulation is enabled, pilot behavior (like tire failures) persists to the next user. Pilots can control persistence granularity and park/shutdown to save state for the next pilot; the feature is available now for MSFS 2020/2024 PC with a free Tailstrike account.

Excerpt from Threshold

Tailstrike and TFDi Design have partnered to add shared aircraft-state persistence to the TFDi MD-11. This system allows individual aircraft flown on the Tailstrike network to retain their configuration, condition, and flight history between different users.

Tailstrike is a cross-simulator platform built around persistent aircraft that you can log into while flying in the sim, with the program then logging your location, fuel state, and flight history. It does this for every user, sort of like a multiplayer network, with individual users able to take over and fly each other’s aircraft in the same condition the other user left them.

Tailstrike’s integration with the MD-11 means that when using the application, over 1,000 aircraft states, including panel configuration, switches, radio, and other cockpit settings, will be synchronised across all users flying the aircraft.

If using TFDi Design’s “Extended Simulation”, component wear, failures, and maintenance states will also be shared between flights, meaning how one user operates the aircraft can affect the condition encountered by whoever flies the same registration next, such as a blown tyre.

Tailstrike says 21 MD-11 airframes are currently available on the network.

Each user can control how much persistence they want and choose to synchronise only the most basic values from the previous pilot, such as fuel, radios, squawk, altimeter, etc., or turn off the feature entirely. Even after loading a persistent state, the aircraft can still be returned to its standard configuration using TFDi’s EFB.

To hand over a state, you need to park and shut down the aircraft before ending your Tailstrike lease. The plugin will then save the configuration for the next user of the same reg.

The integration is available now for the TFDi Design MD-11 in MSFS 2020 and 2024 on PC. A free Tailstrike account and its plugin are required. TFDI’s MD-11 is available for $74.99 USD.
