Just Flight/Thranda Release PA-30 Tomahawk for X-Plane 12

Just Flight and Thranda Design have released the PA-38 Tomahawk for X-Plane 12, a previous X-Plane 11 addon now brought to the new sim.

Just Flight notes that it is their “most detailed GA model” to date for X-Plane 12, and that it comes with “brand-new 8K exterior textures, refined cockpit modelling and new textures, new FMOD sounds, improved flight dynamics, fourteen 8K liveries and the ThrandaPad EFB with its Dynamic Livery system.”

The aircraft includes a detailed IFR-capable avionics suite, as well as custom-coded fuel and electrical systems, vapour lock and plug fouling simulations, interactive checklists, a Weight & Balance Manager app, and functional carburettor and primer controls.

The aircraft was developed based on a real-life Tomahawk, registered G-BNKH, and owned by SportAir.

The PA-38 is a piston-engined aircraft with seats for two and equipped with a tricycle gear setup. It is widely used for flight training and features a 112hp, four-cylinder engine and a fixed-pitch propeller, according to Just Flight’s product page.

14 liveries are included, based on airframes from the UK, US, Germany, France, Belgium, Slovenia and Australia, and Thranda’s dynamic livery creator is also included, for those wishing to create their own livery.

The so-called ThrandaPad EFB is included, with various controls and settings for equipment configurations, panel states, interactive checklists, and aircraft customisation.
