FlightFactor Releases Boeing 777-200LR for X-Plane 12
Quick summary· AI-generated
FlightFactor's Boeing 777-200LR for X-Plane 12 adds the long-range variant to their 777v2 platform, inheriting all core systems (flight model tested with real pilots, dual FMCs, TCAS, GPWS, RAAS, CPDLC/ACARS, EFB with weather radar, and ~1,000 failure conditions). The variant features higher MTOW, greater fuel capacity, extended wingtips, and GE90-110B1 or GE90-115B engines; the standard GE90-115BL is included, with the GE90-110B1 variant available as a paid engine expansion. Detailed 3D cockpit, cabin, and ground-equipment modeling are carried over from the broader 777v2 family.
Excerpt from Threshold
FlightFactor has released the last major member of their 777v2 family today: the Boeing 777-200LR, now available for X-Plane 12.
Nicknamed the “Worldliner” by Boeing, the 777-200LR entered service in 2006 and was developed specifically for ultra-long-haul flying.
Compared with earlier 777 variants, it has a higher maximum take-off weight, greater fuel capacity, several structural changes to accommodate that fuel, and the same extended, raked wingtips as the 777-300ER and 777F, as well as their newer GE90-110B1 or GE90-115B engines, among others.
FlightFactor’s release includes the GE90-115BL as standard; however, the GE90-110B1L requires a separate Engine Expansion.
As mentioned, the -200LR is part of FlightFactor’s 777v2 platform, and is not completely independent as a product.
It carries across the developer’s existing systems simulation, avionics, EFB, crew interaction, maintenance, failures, and ground-service framework, and adds the characteristics specific to the longer-range variant.
FlightFactor says the flight model has been developed and tested with input from real pilots, and the aircraft includes detailed electrical, hydraulic, fuel, pneumatic, flight-control, pressurisation, navigation, and display systems, as well as simulated circuit breakers and multiple degraded flight-control modes.
Simulated avionics include dual FMCs, three CDUs, TCAS, GPWS and RAAS, CPDLC and ACARS functionality, electronic checklists, two EFBs, and a recently introduced weather radar implementation.
Navigraph and SimBrief integration are provided through the EFB.
Carried over 777v2 features include persistent maintenance and failures, situation saving, interactive procedures, a configurable First Officer assistance tool, voice interaction, and almost 1,000 simulated failure conditions.
The cabin, doors, crew-rest areas, ground equipment, and other aircraft areas are all modelled and accessible, FlightFactor writes.
