Threshold

Quick summary· AI-generated

The A220 v1.0.8 patch addresses critical flight management and approach behavior issues, including VPATH capture at TOD, LPV approach corrections, FMS leg conversion, and extensive avionics/sound updates across the PFD, radio systems, and Echo 19 sound package. The developers signal a major performance overhaul in the next update cycle to rework core systems and improve data processing efficiency.

Excerpt from Threshold

Synaptic Simulations and iniBuilds have released version 1.0.8 of their A220.

This update has improved vertical path guidance, approach behaviour, flight management system (FMS), checklist system, and various other avionics and aircraft sounds.

v. 1.0.8 has, in large parts, focused on VPATH and Top of Descent (TOD) behaviour, with Synaptic addressing cases where the aircraft would not capture VPATH correctly at TOD, alongside some issues with TOD and Bottom of Climb indications triggering at inappropriate times.

From now on, TOD will not be drawn after the Final Approach Fix, and LPV approaches have been corrected so that the vertical path can not be drawn through the Vertical Glide Path anymore.

The Primary Flight Display (PFD) can now show altitude in metres when the Flight Control Panel (FCP) selector is set accordingly.

The lateral deviation scale has also been expanded below 1,500 feet, above aerodrome elevation.

Some other fixes regarding the FMS have also been made, including leg-conversion scratchpad clearing, message acknowledgement, checklist logic, PLAN mode behaviour, radio controls, and barometer synchronisation.

The approach thrust logic has also been adjusted, and the Echo 19 sound package has been adjusted in engine mixing, avionics, and equipment fan spatialisation, pack and recirculation fan volumes, wind effects, ground roll, responsiveness, and internal dynamic range.

Overlapping aural cues, several incorrect radio altitude callouts, missing flap and spoiler level sounds, missing avionics sounds, and cabin audio issues involving oxygen and pack bleed exhaust have been fixed as well.

Synaptic says they are working on a larger performance update that will rework various core systems and FMS handling, and make data processing more efficient.

This update will arrive next, or the patch after, they say.
