iniBuilds Malta Available now & Scenery Development Update - August 2026

Hello! Since our last scenery development update in June, it has been another couple of months for the scenery team here at iniBuilds! Most notably, we’ve released our largest scenery project to date, Chicago O’Hare, followed most recently by Malta. Behind the scenes, work has continued on a major redevelopment of one of the most popular airports in our scenery collection, alongside updates bringing our latest Multi-Jetway technology to existing airports as well. Dubai V2 represents a substantial step forward from the original scenery, drawing on everything we have learned from developing airports specifically for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. From completely revisited terminal environments and improved airside detail to significant optimisation work and the introduction of our Multi-Jetway System, almost every part of the airport has received attention. Looking further ahead, we are also ready to formally announce our next major European airport. It is a project that has already involved extensive research and one where we are keen to work closely with those who know the airport best. Today, we will be looking back at the release of Malta International Airport, taking a much closer look at the work underway on Dubai International Airport V2 and finishing with the formal announcement of our next scenery project. Situated between Europe and North Africa, Malta International Airport serves as the island nation’s only commercial airport and provides a varied mix of European, regional, long-haul, cargo and military operations. Malta has always been a popular destination within the flight simulation community. Its Mediterranean setting, distinctive limestone architecture and combination of modern airport infrastructure with the island’s historic surroundings make it an especially interesting airport to recreate. From the beginning of development, our goal was to capture not only the airport itself, but also the atmosphere and character of arriving in Malta. This meant paying close attention to the materials, colours and architecture found throughout the terminal and airfield, alongside the airport’s surrounding environment.
