After the release of their C152, Just Flight has officially announced that their Robin DR400-180 Regent for X-Plane 12 is coming soon.
The add-on is being made in partnership with Thranda Design and is currently scheduled for launch within the next few weeks on the Just Flight store.
According to the developers, the aircraft was built using comprehensive hands-on research, photography, and real-world flight plans from a DR400 (registration G-BEUP) based at Goodwood Aerodrome.
The add-on comes with new 8K interior and exterior textures paired with reworked Physically Based Rendering (PBR) materials to take full advantage of X-Plane 12’s modern lighting engine and native rain effects.
The 3D model accurately recreates the wooden monoplane’s signature cranked-wing geometry and features detailed wear-and-tear texturing, animated canopy and luggage doors, and dynamic ground equipment like chocks and tie-downs.
Six real-world paint schemes from Germany, Spain, France, the UK, Switzerland, and New Zealand are included, alongside Thranda’s dynamic livery templates.
It comes equipped with a comprehensive, IFR-capable avionics suite including a GMA 340 audio selector, GNS 430 GPS, KY 97 COM 2 radio, KN 64 DME, GTX 330 transponder, KR 85 ADF, and an S-TEC 55 autopilot.
For modern navigation, the panel supports swappable GTN 750 integration for both TDS GTNXi and RealityXP GTN750 plugins (sold separately).
Simmers can also use the interactive ThrandaPad EFB tablet to handle weight and balance, manage static ground equipment, adjust DynaFeel control responses, and paint custom liveries directly inside the simulator.
The aircraft features a custom electrical setup with circuit breakers linked to native failure logic, as well as a custom fuel system complete with auxiliary tank transfer and optional auto-switching.
Real-time engine health can be monitored via the EFB to track simulated spark plug fouling and vapour lock conditions. Additionally, sound design is powered by an FMOD 3D audio set with spatial effects and opening canopy sound bleed, fully optimised for Virtual Reality (VR) usage.
The Robin DR400 for X-Plane 12 is expected to launch on the Just Flight store in the coming weeks. Official pricing and exact release date details will be published closer to launch.
