Stellar Simulations has recently released their rendition of Siargao Airport (RPNS) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, serving the tear-drop-shaped island of Siargao in the Philippines, with a yearly average of 536,000 passengers.
It was built in 1963 by the then-president, Diosdado Macapagal, and originally could accommodate only small 19-seater planes that flew from Cebu.
Under President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s Super Regions Program in 2008, the airport was expanded and renovated for the first time, with the runway lengthened to accommodate slightly larger aircraft (70-seaters).
It was renovated again in 2013 under President Noynoy Aquino, getting further modernized and expanded, and becoming the first modern development in Siagao.
With the advent of the Cloud 9 Surfing Cup, Siagao’s small terminal quickly became overwhelmed, causing congestion, long queues, and leading to several complaints. After all, it was built to handle fewer than 200 passengers per hour.
In March 2025, the Transportation Secretary personally inspected the airport and noticed it was, in fact, super cramped, humid, and hot. He ordered immediate changes, which included the removal of the VIP lounge, the elimination of redundant security checks, and the modular expansion of the terminal to essentially triple its passenger handling capacity.
In late 2025, they kicked off the construction of a new terminal building, promising to increase the pre-departure seating capacity from 200 to 750 passengers, with six new check-in counters and modernized facilities. It’s worth emphasizing that the new terminal will be fully modular, enabling construction to proceed much more quickly.
The scenery features an accurate rendition of the airport, with custom ground textures, custom airport buildings and structures, high-resolution PBR textures, an up-to-date ground layout, custom night lighting, and more.
It’s available on SimMarket for roughly $13.66, requiring at least 413.55 MB of free hard disk space to install.
