Got Friends has shared an extensive pre-release post about their upcoming Taylorcraft BC-12D for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020/2024, also confirming price details and a proposed release date of July 31.

Got Friends describes the Taylorcraft as one of their longest and most personal projects to date, having been in development since January 2025.

It is planned to be Got Friends’ final release for MSFS 2020, with the developer calling it a “love letter” to 2020, before fully shifting focus to MSFS 2024.

The Taylorcraft will nonetheless be released simultaneously for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024 on July 31, with a confirmed price of $24.99.

It will be available through the Got Friends website, Contrail, and the in-game Marketplace. Those purchasing the 2020 version will receive the native 2024 version free of charge.

Xbox Series X/S support is planned from day one, while a PlayStation 5 release is expected once Got Friends gains access to the MSFS Marketplace, the developer says.

The Taylorcraft BC-12D will include four variants, covering bush skis, floats and a standard configuration with realistic physics for each, alongside two engine options.

The aircraft will also ship with 20 default liveries, a custom sound package, a detailed flight model based on real-world data points, multiple avionics configurations, interactive pre-flight features and several customisation features through the Craft Pad system.

MSFS 2024 users will benefit from several exclusive features not available in 2020, including walkaround interactions with openable covers, avatar support, compatibility with Career Mode, better visual effects, a further updated flight model and persistent dirt and grime between flights.

Several videos were also shared, showcasing systems, custom water physics, reactive motion, and the available customisation options.

Got Friends states that while some work remains on the native MSFS 2024 package and Marketplace approval, the Taylorcraft is closing in on release, which is again targeted for July 31.
