We’ve got an update from Got Friends on their long awaited Taylorcraft BC-12D bushplane coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. The project represents the last 2020 project they are going to do and they are going out with style given the lengthy feature list. We also have a release date and purchasing information. Let’s dig into it!

Lots of features

Got Friends are releasing the Taylorcraft BC-12D simultaneously on PC and Xbox Series X/S on July 31st and plan to follow-up with a PlayStation 5 release soon after. The aircraft will be $24.99 USD and it will include a lengthy list of features.

Some of the highlights include four variants (wheels, bush wheels, fixed skis and floats), two engines (Continental A-65 and C-85), 20 liveries, custom sounds, classic radio, GNS-430, GTN-650 and GTN-650Xi, support for third party PMS50 and TDS glass panels, custom KAP-140 Autopilot System, custom float physics, water skimming physics, frost, icing and rain visuals.

Some of the more unique capabilities include a ground adjustable propeller (with 6 pitch settings), prop hand start (MSFS 2024 only), carb and primer simulation, and a large array of optional equipment (wet compass, OAT window gauge, AOA indicator, antennas and aerials to match chosen avionics, etc.). There’s a tremendous amount of customization possible with this aircraft to represent different configurations and eras of the Taylorcraft.

Got Friends have also been busy adding custom physics with their reactive motion system. If you forget to lock down your engine cowling or lock the doors and they may flip open in air… all driven by physics. Its cool to see some consequences for not following certain physical procedures!

Read the full report from Got Friends “Jonx” on the MSFS forums and look for the aircraft on July 31st!
