SimWorks Studios Reveals Dash 8 Classic for MSFS 2024

It has been a dream summer for Dash 8 fans, with Miltech Simulations and Majestic Software both teasing Dash 8 projects for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024.

Now, SimWorks Studios has revealed a Dash 8 of their own, this one for MSFS 2024, covering the -100, -200, and -300 variants.

That means there are now at least three Dash 8’s in development for MSFS.

The announcement was made through SimWorks Studios’ 2026 roadmap video, which revealed their plans for the remainder of the year.

This roadmap covers numerous existing projects, including the Kodiak 100 Medevac expansion, Amphibian Edition, Kodiak 900, GA-7 AirVan Systems Pulse 2024 edition, PC-12NG, and PC-12 Legacy 2024 edition.

As for the Dash 8, SimWorks will not be developing the Dash 8-400, at least for now, and they will focus solely on the -100, -200, and -300 variants.

These shorter, older models are still widely used in regional, cargo, and remote operations, particularly on rough, short airfields, and, despite their age, have no practical replacement, so many carriers keep them flying.

The De Havilland Canada Dash 8 entered service back in 1984, as a follow-up to the four-engined Dash 7.

The program changed ownership quite a few times, passing through Boeing and Bombardier before being owned again by De Havilland.

The Dash 8 is widely used worldwide by many operators, with 1,258 built.

The largest operators include Air Canada, Widerøe, PAL Express, ANA, Porter Airlines and more.

No release window or pricing has been announced, but we will keep you updated.
