Gaya Simulations has recently released their rendition of Corfu International Airport (LGKR) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, serving Corfu, Greece, with an average of 4.3 million passengers per year.
It was founded in 1937 and was taken over by the Axis forces shortly after, serving as a base for transport and fighter aircraft. During most of its early life, the runway was only 600 meters long.
It wasn’t until 1949 that Corfu would get its first runway expansion, adding 200 meters in total length, and then nearly doubling a few years later to accommodate larger aircraft.
The first passenger terminal was built in 1962, and its International debut happened three years later.
