Quick summary· AI-generated

efbX is a new Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) companion app created by real-world airline captain KatiePilot, designed to streamline the preflight and flight-planning experience in MSFS by consolidating tools like flight planning, fuel management, doors, and flight systems into one customizable platform. The app will run on iOS, Android, and PC as a stand-alone interface separate from the simulator, featuring an app-store-like ecosystem for first-party and third-party extensions. The announcement was made live at FlightSimExpo 2026, with a Q4 2026 release window confirmed. Early-access registration is available on the efbX website.

efbX has just announced a Q4 2026 release date for MSFS 2020 and 2024, live from the stage at #FSExpoFriday!

Created by KatiePilot, efbX is a companion EFB platform for MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024, designed to bring a real-world airline EFB experience into home flight simulation.

The application can be accessed from a desktop, tablet, phone, or a second machine on the local network, being a stand-alone, all-in-one EFB interface outside MSFS itself.

efbX will be a customisable platform, with individual apps, like a virtual tablet. You’ll be able to install in-house-made efbX apps and compatible third-party apps via a built-in App Store-like solution. efbX can also track your simulator in real time, and adapt to different aircraft and user preferences.

According to efbX, they want to make the preflight experience more seamless, with tools for flight planning, GSE, fuel, doors, and flight management all in one place, rather than being spread across separate windows and services, in different aircraft and plugin menus.

“As a real-world airline captain, I get quite frustrated at how much effort it takes to get a virtual flight going these days. At work, we show up, brief, fuel, board and go because all the tools we need are in front of us, efbX is designed to bring us back to that gold standard of realism above all else”, KatiePilot, creator of efbX, said in the provided press release.

efbX is being shown at FlightSimExpo this weekend, and if you’re there, visit Booth 417 on June 13 and 14 to try it out in person.

You can also register your interest for early access through the efbX website.

Support is planned for iOS, Android and PC.
