iniBuilds says O’Hare has been high on the bucket list for some time, and as part of the development process, a member of the iniBuilds team travelled to Chicago earlier this year to gather reference material.
iniBuilds says hundreds of photographs were captured across the various terminal buildings, passenger areas, check-in halls, departure lounges, gates, and other parts of the airport. The Hall of Flags in Terminal 3 will also be represented.
iniBuilds Chicago will include custom ground textures, signage and lighting, various clutter and airside roadways, and it will be optimised for performance.

Dubai is an early and popular airport of iniBuilds, and will now be brought up to a modern standard, including improvements to modelling, texturing, interior, pavement and other infrastructure, as well as performance.
The latter will be an especially big focus of the Dubai V2 update, with iniBuilds saying that large portions of the airport are being rebuilt and optimised from the ground up.
The goal is to reduce overall node and vertex count, draw calls and unnecessary bounding boxes, as well as implement MSFS 2024 optimisation LODs.
Dubai V2 will also include additional interior modelling in areas not previously represented in V1.
iniBuilds Multiple Jetways for MSFS
In recent days, iniBuilds has also revealed a new multiple-jetway system, the first time such a capability has been seriously discussed for the sim.
This will allow compatible stands to connect more than one jetway to a single aircraft at the same time, relevant for the increasing number of widebodies available.
This system is built directly into the airport package and should work like the current default jetways.
